O God, you are our God, we seek you,
Our souls thirst for you;
our flesh faints for you, as in a dry and
weary land where there is no water.

This afternoon at 2 pm Central Virginia Restorative Justice is sponsoring a compelling work of theater titled "A Body in Motion" at Piedmont Virginia Community College. The play is based on the stories of survivors of crime as originally told in the book Transcending. The play presents some of the many varied and complex responses to a violent event with hope of transcendence. These stories remind us of the strength of the human spirit and the fragility of life. A reception will be held immediately following the production. Dr. Howard Zehr, author of Transcending: Reflections of Crime Victims, and The Little Book of Restorative Justice will be on hand to sign copies of these two books. Admission is $ 5 and any proceeds will benefit the work of Central Virginia Restorative Justice.

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Omar and Dolores Beiler invited Philip Rhodes to play
guitar and sing for an all-day children's clinic at the Joyland Clinic
in Jamaica. While people waited for a check-up, they joined Philip
in singing worship songs. A man from the community also led
some popular Jamaican worship songs that Philip enjoyed learning
as he strummed along.

Mennonite Mission Network: Pray for Mennonite Mission Network workers Marlow and Vicky Ramsay in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Marlow recently accepted added responsibilities as Development Director for Projects, serving with Joint Christian Services.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Foodbank and the Salvation Army.

Pray for the Virginia Mennonite Women's conference in Williamsburg, September 26-28. Eight women from CMC are planning to go.
