Lent week 2

Gathering in Christ's name

Call to worship

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
Come into his presence with singing.

People: For the Lord is good, his steadfast love endures forever,
And his faithfulness to all generations.
Leader: Come and stand upon the rock,
the one on whom our hearts rely;

People: Let us learn what it means to be strong in the Lord.
Leader: Come and stand around the Shepherd,
the one in whom our hearts have faith;

People: Let us learn what it means to be loved by the Lord.
All: O Holy Spirit who makes us the image of God,
help us to become the saviors of the helpless,
the pillars of the weak, the finders of the forsaken!

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Tomorrow is Woman's Day in Italy, a holiday promoted by
the feminist movement. The women typically go out together to eat
and have a wild time. Pray for Eva Eberly as she plans to give a brief talk tomorrow evening at a special dinner for women at Centro Koinonia in Bari. The Christian women are inviting their non-Christian friends to this event.

Mennonite Mission Network: Pray for Amanda and Gamaliel Falla and the ministry of the Mennonite Church of Barranquilla, Colombia. They relate to a squatter community on a hillside by providing nourishing meals for children twice a week, teaching about Jesus and worshiping with the children and adults.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
