The Penny Power jar brought in $ 71.04 for water projects with MCC and VMBM. A big thank you to all the children.

Anyone interested in funnel cake mix (great to make pancakes or waffles) can buy it for $ 1 per bag. There is foldout computer paper in the church office upstairs for use in SS or other church events. Help yourself.

Saturday November 2, at 6pm we will be having another Ladies Nite Out at the parsonage in the form of a shower for Monica Maughlin and daughter-to-be!!! Plan on coming and bringing your favorite dessert or appetizer again. If people are interested in going together for a gift, just e-mail Audrey Myers jamyers4@earthlink.net , or just for gift suggestions. Hope to see you there!

CHRISTMAS PLAY - Today immediately after the service this Sunday and before the meal Jeff Myers will be meeting with parents and kids willing to be part of the Christmas play this year. It's time to start working on it! We need volunteers who are handy at costuming, set planning, etc.!

A FALL LAY CAREGIVER SEMINAR for elders, youth workers, S. S. teachers and other concerned lay leaders will be held Saturday, November 2, from 8 am-4 pm, hosted by the Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church in Mt. Solon. It will be led by Harvey Yoder, with a lunch provided at the church. Total cost is $35 per participant (includes noon meal), or $30 if part of a group of three or more from the same congregation. Remember Stewardship University will be held November 9 at Parkview Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, Va. Stewardship University is the pursuit of whole life stewardship - using the resources God has provided for God's purposes. Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Dan & Mary Hess and their children-Heather, Alecia, and Jyrell-recently returned to Lushnjë, Albania, after a two-month stateside assignment. Pray for them as they resume their work in
church planting and leadership development. Look for their new picture on the missions bulletin board!

Mennonite Mission Network: During this time of wars and rumors of wars, pray for Leo Hartshorn, Minister for Peace and Justice of Mennonite Mission Network, and Susan Mark Landis, Peace Advocate for Mennonite Church USA as they resource conferences and congregations on practicing peace and justice.

Pray for Mauricio Chenlo as he begins his work as director of the Jubilee Peace Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. May God use Mauricio as an instrument of God's peace.

Thank God for Third Way Café's sister website, Café deTercera Alternativa. Pray that thousands of persons reading English and Spanish will be inspired by the faith of Anabaptists and desire to follow Christ more closely in their daily lives.
