Remembering
Let us name those who have died
In the rising of the sun and its going down,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
When we are weary and in the need of strength,

"Islam and the Gospel" will be addressed by Dr. David W. Shenk at Weavers Mennonite Church on Nov. 9 and 10 in 3 sessions -- Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 10:20 a.m. and 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Taste of Shenandoah, a festive gathering of young adults, will be held on Saturday, November 2, at the Showalter Barn north of Harrisonburg. At 6 p.m. you can enjoy a pork BBQ dinner, homemade ice cream, games, and other festivities, and at 8 p.m. there will be a square dance. Cost is $5 for the whole event or $2 for the square dance only. The event is sponsored by the Young Adult Committee of Virginia Mennonite Conference. Prayers and Praises
VMBM: NewBridges Immigrant Resource Center, a
ministry of Harrisonburg District, helps new immigrants in the area to
access community services such as medical care, job training, language
study, and translation. Pray for wisdom and strength for director Susannah
Gerber Lepley and the staff of NewBridges.
Mennonite Mission Network - Church Planting:
C. Paul and Hildi Amstutz, mission associates, co-pastor a new church
plant at La Roca, Paraguay. They rejoice in God's blessing on the church
that began less than a year ago. Pray for three people preparing for baptism,
and for larger facilities.
Amanda and Gamaliel Falla returned to Colombia to plant a new church in Barranquilla. Stand with them in prayer as they establish relationships that demonstrate God's love in a country experiencing violence.
Dorothy and Jake Unrau face challenges as they give leadership
to the Evangelical Mennonite Church of Zaporozhye, Ukraine. Pray for them
as they continue to seek out leaders and develop
a deeper faith within the congregation.
