For God Alone
my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress;
I shall not be shaken.
One thing God has spoken;
two things have I heard:
that you, O Lord, are strong,
and that you, O Lord, are loving."
Psalm 62

Call to worship
based on Psalm 62
ALL: FOR GOD ALONE MY SOUL WAITS IN SILENCE, FOR
MY HOPE IS FROM HIM. HE ALONE IS MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION, MY FORTRESS;
I SHALL NOT BE SHAKEN. ON GOD RESTS MY DELIVERANCE AND MY HONOR; MY MIGHTY
ROCK, MY REFUGE IS GOD.
Leader: Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.
ALL: ONE THING GOD HAS SPOKEN;
TWO THINGS HAVE WE HEARD: THAT YOU, O LORD, ARE STRONG, AND THAT YOU,
O LORD ARE LOVING.
Leader: Those of low estate are but a breath,
those of high estate are a delusion;
in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.
ALL: ONE THING GOD HAS SPOKEN;
TWO THINGS HAVE WE HEARD: THAT YOU, O LORD, ARE STRONG, AND THAT YOU,
O LORD ARE LOVING.
Leader: Put no confidence in extortion, and set no vain hopes
on
robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
ALL: ONE THING GOD HAS SPOKEN;
TWO THINGS HAVE WE HEARD: THAT YOU, O LORD, ARE STRONG, AND THAT YOU,
O LORD ARE LOVING. FOR YOU REWORD EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO THEIR WORK.

Prayers and Praises
VMBM: Paul and June Kropf are in contact via e-mail
with four students from the congregation in Lezhe, Albania, who are studying
in college outside of Albania. Most of them are dealing with homesickness
and are adjusting to having all their classes in English. Pray that Admir,
Ermiona, Enida, and Belina would stay committed to their walk with the
Lord.
Mennonite Mission Network: The Korea Anabaptist Center in Seoul
celebrated its first year anniversary last fall. Pray for the ministry
of the center as it resources and educates people about peace through
books, seminars, Peacebuilders classes and personal conversations.
Love Inc.: Pray that our phone volunteers will
be blessed with joy and energy as they minister to those in need. Pray
that others will feel a call to serve as phone volunteers and will join
the team.

for the rains that have fallen and continue to pray for a good rainy season.
Pray for all those involved in making decisions as we draw nearer to August
2003. Pray for God's guidance for people planning continental programs
for Assembly Gathered. Thank God for the tremendous response to the Global
Youth Summit and for youth from most continents who have shared their
visions and goals. Pray for the registration process. Pray that God will
provide finances for Africa 2003. Pray for peace and security as well
as that human rights will be upheld.
