Hymns of Hope & Healing is a stirring two-hour TV special that brings alive the compelling stories behind America's most loved hymns. It also provides riveting accounts and interviews filmed at the heart of Ground Zero and the Pentagon. The rescue workers and those who lost families and friends share how these enduring hymns of faith offered hope and sustained them through the tragedy of September 11th.

Narrated and presented by renowned actor and TV host, Clifton Davis, the featured hymn stories arep resented with unmistakable power and emotion. Interviews include Dr. Billy Graham, George Beverly Shea, Dr. Robert Schuller, and Major George Polarek, S alvation Army Incident Commander from the World Trade Center disaster relief effort. Artists include CeCe Winans, Sandi Patty and Ripley Fairchild with her moving rendition of "America The Beautiful." The program also introduces 19-year-old Adriel Heiss singing "It Is Well With My Soul" and telling of her experience working at Ground Zero.

Film locations include Manhattan and Ground Zero-at the foot of the Steel Cross, Washington DC, the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore.

The musical score features inspired new symphonic and choral arrangements, conducted by Paul Terracini and performed by the Prague symphony orchestra and Vox Ecclesia. Proceeds from the sale of CDs will benefit the Billy Graham Organization and the Salvation Army in their ongoing work throughout North America.

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: VMBM President Loren Horst and his wife, Earlene, are currently serving in Trinidad for several months. Loren is teaching a missiology class at the West Indies Theological College, and he and Earlene serve as mentors for the pastor couple of Charlieville Mennonite Church. They will return to Harrisonburg in December.

Mennonite Mission Network: A retreat for about 100 children and teen-agers, many from unchurched families, will be held Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Pray for Mission Network worker Margrit Kipfer Barrón and for the children to know and follow Christ.
