He who dwells
in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord,
"He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

Note the date for the next fellowship meal and vision meeting will be July 13, 2003. We hope you can all join us that day. If not, please share your thoughts and dreams with us via email or phone call.

The date for next year's All Church Retreat at Camp Bethel has been set for June 4-6, 2004. It's never to early to mark your calendar for this time of growing closer to God and one another through worship, fun and fellowship.

Women's Bible Study on Romans will be discontinued over the summer and will pick up again on Wednesdays beginning September 3, 2003. In the meantime there will be a women's bible study meeting over the summer on Mondays at 10 am beginning June 16 at the parsonage, study subject will be chosen that day also.

Please note the new Summer SS schedule: During the months of June through August the children will meet in the preschool SS room for Veggietown adventures and the youth will meet with the adults in the sanctuary studying the builder.

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Jesse Lucke recently assembled a few electronic circuits with the students at Maranatha School for the Deaf in Jamaica. They liked the one that would turn on a light when they touched two probes. They enjoyed sticking the probes on different things--each other, a glass of water, paper, and wood. Everything but the paper was wet enough to make it light, but Jesse thinks even the paper would be wet enough in the rainy season!

Mennonite Mission Network: Mennonite Mission Network worker Lillian Haas reports that villages in the Orodara area of Burkina Faso are under spiritual attack. Pray that the Christians will remain solid in their faith and be effective in teaching their neighbors what it means to follow Jesus.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Foodbank and the Salvation Army.

Please keep the Charlottesville Mennonite Church Leadership 2003-2004 in your prayers.
