Please remember our church potluck picnic on Sunday, August 24 at Walnut Creek Park, Shelter 2 (same one we had last year) after 12:30pm. Follow the road until the beach and the shelter is located on the right hand side just before the beach.

Make Christian Fellowship at home a gift to the needy. 2003 Peace Fellowship Meal Sunday is scheduled for September 14. The Harrisonburg District Council, of VA Mennonite Conference, invites you to extend your table as a host or participate as a guest. The proceeds raised by this new fundraising endeavor will benefit MCC, VMBM and New Bridges. Brochures are in your mailbox. Please return your registration forms by, Sunday, August 24 to either Jeannine's mailbox or mail them to the address on the form.

Paintings by MACON (Maria Consuelo Vargas de Speiss, a Mennonite artist from Vienna, Austria) capturing the feelings and emotions of the emigrant/immigrant will be on display in EMU's Hartzler Library on August 31-October 3. An artist's reception and gallery talk will be held 2:30-4 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: When Marcia Lehman and other believers sing together in Marcia's home in Bari, Italy, a neighbor sits on her balcony to enjoy the music. The neighbor recently asked Marcia if she could come over to Marcia's house sometime to listen. Pray that God will touch this woman's life through the songs of praise and worship that she hears.

Mennonite Mission Network: Thank God for the more than 170 graduates of Benin Bible Institute who received their diplomas and certificates in June. Mennonite Mission Network workers Bruce Yoder and Nancy Frey request prayer that God's spirit will prompt many new students to attend BBI this fall.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Foodbank and the Salvation Army.
